Why Facebook Ads Are Unreliable For Your Business

Nov 29, 2022 | JC Hite

If you’re like most business owners, you’ve at least considered running Facebook ads to promote your business. After all, it is a no-brainer with over 2.9 billion active users. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple. In the second quarter of 2022, FB got rid of 1.4B “fake accounts”– however, this isn’t as great as it seems. Fake accounts include businesses, organizations, or non-human entities that Facebook eliminates without mercy.

The Facebook ads world has become unreliable with all the rules and regulations Meta has set for its users. This is very inconvenient for business owners because it stunts their growth. Let’s look at why Facebook ads can be unreliable for your business.

Facebook Ad Policies That May Affect Your Business

One of the reasons Facebook Ad targeting has become so unreliable for businesses is that they are closing a significant amount of accounts that have “infringed” on their established rules and regulations.

To successfully run ads on Facebook, you need to follow rules that guarantee you will run your ads without any issues and that your account will be in good standing. However, if your ads don’t follow these guidelines –even unintentionally – your account may get suspended and create many problems in the long run. Some of these guidelines include:

Using More Than 20% Ad Text: This long-standing rule was recently enforced more strictly. Facebook will reject your ad if it contains more than 20% text. This can make it difficult for businesses to communicate their message, especially if they have a lot to say.

Not Using The Proper Call-To-Action:  Another rule enforced more strictly is using the proper call-to-action. Your ad must include a call-to-action relevant to your business and your offer. If it doesn’t, Facebook will reject your ad.

Low Ad Quality: Facebook Ad targeting has also been cracking down on ads that are not high quality. This includes things like typos, poor grammar, and low-resolution images. If your ad is not of high quality, it will likely be rejected.

Bad Landing Page:  Your ad must also lead to a high-quality landing page. If your landing page is not up to par, Facebook will reject your ad.

These are just a few of the recent policy changes that Facebook has made. As you can see, there are a lot of rules and regulations, and if you don’t follow them, your ads will likely be rejected.

Keep Your Business In Mind

When you’re creating a digital marketing strategy, it’s important to keep in mind which platform you’re going to use to run your ads. Ensuring your strategy will be as successful as possible is essential to bringing in new customers and keeping your business afloat. So, while putting all your forces into Facebook may be tempting, it’s best to look into different strategies to obtain better results.
